Cosmic Rays Division Building (or Meteorological station.)
Day 1: Yerevan. Driving to Antarut village. Luch-picnic. Taking the caterpillar truck and ascending Cosmic Ray Division’s (CRD) laboratories on the slope of Mt. Aragats at 3200 m above sea level. Preparing the gear. Dinner and overnight at CRD. Meal Plan: /L/D.
Day 2: CRD. Ascending with skis the Southern top (3897m) of Mt. Aragats to research the condition of snow and ice and to imagine the route for next days. Lunch (sandwiches, tea, coffee). Skiing down to CRD. Dinner and overnight at CRD. Meal Plan: B/L/D.
Day 3: CRD. In the case of proper weather - ascending the northern slope of Western top of Mt. Aragats. Trying to ascend the top (4008 m) using crampons and ice-axes. Lunch (sandwiches, tea, coffee) – on the way. Return back to CRD (skiing downhill). Dinner and overnight. Meal Plan: B/L/D.
Day 4: CRD. The reserve day. In the case of good weather – trying to ascend Northern top (see Day 5). Meal Plan: B/L/D.
Day 5: CRD. This is our main day. In the early morning – start to ascend the pass between Southern and Western tops (3800 m). Moving-in the crater. Traverse the crater to reach the saddle between Northern and Eastern tops (3750 m). Lunch (sandwiches, tea, coffee). Leaving our skis on the saddle – ascending the false top of Northern summit (4090 m). Return to the saddle and taking the skis skiing back to CRD. Dinner and overnight. Meal Plan: B/L/D. If we would reach Northern top on Day 4, this day we would have for leisure).
Day 6: CRD. Skiing as low as possible towards Antarut village. The whole luggage would come with caterpillar truck. Lunch (sandwiches, tea, coffee) on the way. Removing the luggage from the truck to our vehicle. Drive back to Yerevan. Meal Plan: B/L/.
